"Terrible" is a great opportunity
This article from Tobias Stone shows again that we’re terrible. Terrible, awful, stupid human beings. We never learn, we don’t care, we always ignore the signs. We suffer again and again just because we’re shortsighted bastards who never acknowledge enough. Our entire history is a proof to that.
My point is that this is a cycle. It happens again and again, but as most people only have a 50–100 year historical perspective they don’t see that it’s happening again. As the events that led to the First World War unfolded, there were a few brilliant minds who started to warn that something big was wrong, that the web of treaties across Europe could lead to a war, but they were dismissed as hysterical, mad, or fools, as is always the way, and as people who worry about Putin, Brexit, and Trump are dismissed now
You’ll go nuts if you’re trying to make sense of the path the world is going on. Just seeing what people vote for nowadays will throw you in a deep state of despair. Why are they encouraging the worst approach of solving a society’s problem? Why are they putting the worst people in charge? Why don’t they just read the mighty World Order book to understand how the global reality works? Why #$%& %& (* ^&% *(&(7656$% 34@24&…
Maybe you shouldn’t care about the big picture as you can’t really change it directly. Maybe what you should do is just educate yourself. Stop blaming yourself for stupid things in the first place, then just grow little by little, book by book, person by person. Educate your parents, educate your friends and that will do. Person by person. And then maybe your friends will take your approach and do that themselves, educating others. Sounds doable, right?
In Romania we still have education issues in rural areas that seems will never disappear. Things are terrible and people generally just ignore the problem instead of trying to find ways of fixing it. The Government doesn’t care because we all don’t care and that’s simply a recipe for disaster. My childhood was spent in a rural area, my parents still live there, so I know a little about the problems you may encounter and the way the locals think about them. I was more that pleased when I saw today that an organisation is trying to develop an educational center in my village area. They are trying to raise some money through Țara lui Andrei campaign (pretty well known in Romania) and that depends on our votes. Encouraging and motivating individuals when you see them trying to educate other people is what’s necessary, that means a lot for society and is an opportunity to change human’s mindset a bit. I will vote for them because it suits to my #educateyourfriends strategy for fixing the world problems. And this is what you should do also.
A lot of things are terrible. Terrible sucks. But terrible is also an opportunity to fix real problems and improve the way we write history on this planet. Let’s do our thing, little by little.
Update: the project got enough votes and will be funded. Yay!
